For the power generation business of SolarKapital group, 2022 will be remembered as a highly successful year. With a total capacity of about 12 MWp, a total of 14,500 MWh of solar energy was generated. The specific yield of the portfolio, which now consists of 36 PV systems in Germany, Greece and France, was around 1,200 kWh/kWp. This corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of almost 4,900 homes or the electricity consumption of a medium-sized town per year. The emission of around 8,500 t of CO2 was thus avoided. This makes 2022 the best year since the company was founded in 2010.

While Germany recorded a historically high level of solar irradiation compared to previous years, in France abd Greece it was about average. In this context, the positive result of SolarKapital is particularly due to professional asset management in both the commercial and technical areas. "I would like to thank the entire SolarKapital team and also our external partners - for example in the areas of technical support, monitoring, accounting/taxes, law, insurance and banking - who have contributed to this", comments Andreas Leimbach, Managing Director of the SolarKapital Group together with Tobias Engelhardt.

With the successful acquisition initiative "Socrates", SolarKapital Greece expanded its portfolio by 11 more plants to over three MWp in 2022. The expansion of the portfolio is to be continued in 2023. In Germany, the acquisition of a portfolio with a total of 1.7 MW with six roof systems was completed in autumn 2022. The total portfolio here now amounts to about six MWp. Portfolio expansions in France are also being examined but will not be completed until 2023 at the earliest.

The SolarKapital group, which focuses exclusively on the solar sector, has also decided to again resume activities in the area of project development in 2022, starting with securing space - open and roofs - through to the completion of new PV plants in all three countries in which the group is active. For that purpose the group also built up designated resources. In this way, it also wants to contribute to further acceleration in the fight against climate change. The proven high quality in the support of PV plants "from A-Z" is also to be offered to third party plant owners in the future.

Overall, the SolarKapital group is very positive about further business development due to the promising market situation, the professionalism of the team and the reputation it has now achieved in the market. In addition to the traditional component risks and the remaining probability of adverse regulatory intervention, a potentially limiting risk factor continues to be the interest rate level, which already has risen considerably.
