SolarKapital acquired a ground-mounted plant with an installed capacity of around 1 MWp near Thessaloniki, Greece.

The Frankfurt based solar energy specialist thereby expands its Greek portfolio which already includes pv plants on the islands of Crete and Rhodes for more than some 10 years. “The new acquisition is the first transaction of a larger, additional acquisition program for existing pv plants recently initiated. We are glad about the new addition and the expeditious execution of the transaction”, says Andreas Leimbach, Managing Director of SolarKapital.

The combination of a) the economic and political stabilization that has taken place in Greece, b) the SolarKapital track record and c) the extensive in-depth experience gained in Greece with the involvement of the local team around Athanasios Kyriakis, Nikos Papazoglou and Nikos Stratos will also be the driving force for more transactions to come in the short-term.
