The first transaction of SolarKapital's third investment initiative in Greece has been completed. SolarKapital has acquired two existing ground-mounted solar parks in Piera on the Greek mainland south-west of Thessaloniki.
The transaction was part of the ‘Platon’ acquisition process launched in Q1/2024. The PV systems have a capacity of 500 kWp and 400 kWp. They are equipped with BYD modules and the inverters are from ABB/Fimer.
Constantinos Sioumis, Managing Director of SolarKapital Greece: ‘I am pleased that with the acquisition of these two PV plants, which fully meet our technical and commercial standards, we are on track to achieve the ambitious investment goals of “Platon”. The current dynamics of the secondary solar market in Greece and the experience and solid reputation of SolarKapital Group as an investor make me confident that the investment initiative can be successfully and swiftly finalised already in the coming months".
Aristides Nikas, Vice President of POSPIEF and shareholder of the selling company, adds: “We are very pleased to have finalised this transaction. The process was demanding but professional in every respect and has resulted in us obtaining funds that will enable our group to achieve its strategic objectives.”
